Let's Talk Change, with CX Leaders: a digital event
After five months of only producing small digital events, (after canceling our Miami user conference, Relate, and then creating our digital reaction, Relater), we decided to go big and talk change. HA!
Let's Talk Change aired on August 11, 2020, and with it came all the challenges. We took risks and aired much of the event live. Of course, even with all the technology and all the preparation, there were audio issues and internet connectivity drops. We missed key contingency plans. Lessons learned.
And the pieces that were pre-recorded? All done from our Airbnb in Scottsdale over the course of three days. The most memorable was interviewing Leslie Odom Jr. (of Hamilton fame) on a 115-degree afternoon. In order to get the best sound quality, we needed to shut off the AC and barricade my #hothusband and corgis in a back bedroom.
Even with sweat dripping down my back, I had such a tremendous time as LOJ shared his gratitude, talked change, and periodically burst into song.
Of course, #hothusband did not have quite the same experience with his makeshift desk in a sweltering room. He did stay in good spirits though, which may have been thanks to the old-fashioned(s).
